Endurance leagues bring the best out in any iRacing community. At SRW we have been waiting for the right time to create one. When the TCR league was announced we knew that the time was right.
Adding GT3 and The Porsche Cup classes to TCR seemed to make total sense. We already have a great customer base and to bring them all together in one series makes total sense.
However, the difficult part of any league creation is how to create a series with a difference to make us stand out from the crowd. This is where the race distance of 1000km comes in, creating races of differing durations to ensure diversity in the series.
Each track has been selected to give room for big grids but still provide the best racing. With night racing under floodlight and amazing sunrise and sunset time slots now available in iRacing, the backdrops and atmosphere for endurance racing couldn't be any better.
Rolling starts for each class will give great close racing and exciting multiple starts.
This series will also be broadcast by Apex Racing TV.
It will be weekend racing on a monthly basis from December to May.
At SRW we have always rewarded the community for loyalty and this series will be no different. For the first time there will be invited teams to the series. Each team will be only allowed to enter 1 car in each class. There will be 3 drivers per car, but only 2 drivers will be allowed to enter each race. This allows driver swaps at any round with no penalty. The second part of the loyalty scheme is that drivers who are registered and currently race in an SRW league series will get priority over the public in the first round of registration when it opens.
I am sure you'll agree that this league will attract plenty of interest and over the next few days and weeks the full rulebook and important dates will be released.
We will be adding another class to this
series when the GT4 Porsche Cayman is released by iRacing in the winter.
